Rho(D) immune globulin (human)
Indications/Uses
Prevention of Rh haemolytic disease of the newborn by its administration to the Rho (D)-ve mother, w/in 72 hr after birth of her 1st Rho (D)+ve infant or after an abortion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Postpartum prophylaxis Inj 1 vial IM into postpartum mother. Antenatal prophylaxis Inj 1 vial at 28 wks gestation, followed by 1 more dose w/in 72 hr postpartum if infant is Rh +ve. Threatened abortion at any stage of gestation Inj 1 vial.
Special Precautions
Never administer by IV or to infant. IgA deficiency. Hypersensitivity to thimerosal or human Ig.
